First Flight High School cheerleading coach Cindy McNeill announced that six FFHS cheerleaders tried out for and made All-American Cheerleader this summer at camp and three of them are going to participate in the New Years Day parade – in London!

"They had to do a cheer, dance and jump for the tryout, and they had to show a lot of spirit to be chosen," McNeill said. "All-American is sponsored by Universal Cheerleaders Association, and that's the camp we attended in July when they were chosen."

They'll leave on Dec. 26 and return Jan. 2. They will perform with cheerleaders from all over the nation in London's New Year's Day parade. The cost is steep – $3,000 per girl – so they have been doing a lot of fundraising, McNeill said: selling candy bars, doing concessions at middle school football games, and they have started a "Piggybackr" account for donations. The cost covers travel, lodging, uniform, sight-seeing and some meals.

The six who were chosen were Hayley Miller, Shelby Miller, Koral Tucker, Abby Hite, Reece Pritchard and Zoe Blankenship. From left, the three that are London-bound are Hayley Miller, Shelby Miller and Koral Tucker.
