Principal's Message

I am very excited and truly grateful to have the opportunity to work with the students, parents, and community members of First Flight High School. We have the opportunity to influence young adults every day, and we strive to ensure their growth as lifelong learners. 

I am also very grateful for the interest and support that comes from our families and community. We want to continue the active involvement that you contribute and to continue to build with new community partners. A strong partnership between the school and the community is vital to the continued growth within our schools.  This partnership serves as a constant reminder that our students not only represent themselves, but their families, their school, and their community. 

We feature a dedicated staff that shares a collective vision of caring, inclusive learning environments. Classroom instruction focuses on rigorous content that prepares students for an ever-changing world. Global perspectives are consistent center-pieces in daily lessons and activities. Students also have one-to-one access to technology and have frequent opportunities to learn in collaborative settings.  

All of this brings me to our primary focus: students. We provide students with a safe school, and we believe that the students of First Flight are the leaders of tomorrow. We encourage our students to take full advantage of the educational opportunities that they are presented through our regular education, dual enrollment with COA, and AP offerings.

First Flight High School has an array of successful programs that aim to highlight student achievement. Our Fine Arts program arranges musicals, concerts, plays, and other events throughout the year.  Our athletics department regularly wins the Wells Fargo Cup and has won recent State Championships in track, wrestling, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer. The CTE Department provides students with unique learning opportunities designed to prepare them for their future careers. Our outstanding AVID program works to promote student-centered learning strategies that shape independent learners. Our student-generated newspaper is nationally recognized and highlights student-life at First Flight High School.
