SAT/ACT Testing Dates
The SAT and ACT are offered several times throughout the school year at FFHS and other locations ranging from Manteo to Elizabeth City to Virginia.

During the 2025-26 school year, the SAT will be given on the following dates at First Flight High School:
- September 13 (deadline to register August 29)
- October 4 (deadline to register September 19)
- November 8 (deadline to register October 24)
- December 6 (deadline to register November 21)
- March 14 (deadline to register February 27)
- May 2 (deadline to register April 21)
On these Saturday test dates, students arrive at the school between 7:30 and 8 a.m. with their charged Chromebook, admission ticket, and ID. A snack, water and calculator can also be brought into the testing center. The online test begins at 8 and takes about two and a half hours.
Students can register online at www.collegeboard.com. Students often plan to take the SAT once or twice in the spring of their junior year, then once in the fall of senior year to establish their best scores. The FFHS School Code number is 342027. Currently, the state of North Carolina requires all juniors to take the ACT during the school day. Anyone who wishes to pay for other ACT administrations can sign up to take it at a nearby location by checking out the ACT website linked above.
