Welcome to the 2026 Dare County local scholarships page. Below, you will find all the information you need to complete your applications virtually. Please CAREFULLY read through the requirements before you begin your application. Take advantage of the two workshops from 9 to noon on Jan. 21 and Feb. 18 to get some assistance! You will submit your application at the upload link below each individual scholarship.

For an overview of all scholarships at a glance, including relevant criteria, review THIS GOOGLE DOC.

If you missed the online info session, you can watch it via this Google Drive link. Don't want to watch the video? You can review the slides presentation at this Google Drive link.

Application Form:
All students applying for local scholarships (NOT for OBCF and DEF) will use this Common Application. Click here to access the application: 2026 Local Scholarship Common Application. PLEASE carefully read the directions and fully complete each section.

Need help? Reach out to Ms. Kepley and Mrs. Wheless and/or make plans to attend a scholarship info session. Seniors MUST be checking their emails during this busy time; PARENTS, we also will share important dates and info with you in the Wednesday Student Services email blast and the Friday Flight Log.

Recommendation Form:
All scholarships that require any letter(s) of recommendation should have THIS GOOGLE FORM sent to the person who is recommending you. Students also have access to this form within the Common Application.

Transcripts:
All scholarships for the Common Application will automatically be uploaded for students. Scholarships for the OBCF application require students to UPLOAD A TRANSCRIPT. To receive a transcript, students MUST EMAIL Mrs. Mitchell in the Counseling Center and ask her to send the PDF to them. Transcript requests MUST be made by MONDAY, FEB. 16. Mitchell can be reached at mitchellde@daretolearn.org.

External Local Scholarships:
A number of local scholarships (ie. Dare Education Foundation, Outer Banks Community Foundation, etc.) are NOT processed by First Flight High School and instead have their own online processes. Links to those processes are provided below.
