Hello, members of the Class of 2025!

This page and the Scholarship Applications Material page have all the information you need to navigate the scholarship application process for local awards as well as those offered by the Dare Education Foundation and Outer Banks Community Foundation.

Key Dates:

  • Jan. 10, 2025 – Scholarship applications for the Dare Education Foundation (DEF) will go live. Visit the DEF website to learn more and apply.

  • Jan. 10, 2025 – Scholarship applications for the Outer Banks Community Foundation (OBCF) will go live. Visit the OBCF website to learn more and apply.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025 – FFHS local scholarship applications go live. You can access the actual application materials at the Scholarship Application Materials page nestled under this page.
     

  • Jan. 22, 2025, 9 a.m. to noon – Scholarship Workshop 1 for seniors and early graduate students in the Media Center, focusing on application issues, selecting recommenders and more.

  • Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, 9 a.m. to noon – Scholarship Workshop 2 for seniors and early graduate students in the Media Center, focusing on application issues, essay writing, selecting recommenders and more.

  • Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, 9 a.m. to noon – Scholarship Workshop 3 for seniors and early graduate students in the Media Center, focusing on application issues, essay writing, selecting recommenders and more.
     

  • Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. – All FFHS local scholarship applications and recommendations are due. All DEF and OBCF scholarship applications are due in their respective online portals.

  • Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 6 p.m. – Scholarship Awards Night in the FFHS Auditorium. Please note the earlier date for the awards announcement so that students know of their awards prior to the April 30 college admissions deadline decision day. (Students who are receiving an award will be given an invitation to attend the awards night but will not know what scholarships they have earned until the actual ceremony.)
