About the Nighthawks

FFHS student-athletes compete in the NCHSAA 3A/4A/5A Northeastern Coastal Conference with Currituck, Pasquotank, Martin and Hertford County, as well as Northeastern High in Elizabeth City. The Nighthawks annually are in the running for the NCC's Wachovia Cup as one of the top all-around sports schools. New for the 2025-26 school year, the Nighthawks are competing in the NCHSAA's 4A division for the state playoffs.

The Nighthawk Club

The First Flight High School Nighthawk Club is a non-profit organization committed to uniting and supporting all FFHS athletic programs through fundraising, volunteer efforts, and school spirit, enriching the student-athlete experience and promoting success, both academically and athletically. Athlete Participation Info

Dare County Schools has a new vendor handling athletic forms this year. Information on using this new straight-forward system can be found at the following link. Parents and their student-athletes can use Rank One to complete four online information forms and also view the status of the physical (which must be submitted to the school) that must be on file for each student to compete.
